Aman Mehra House

Moving away from the usual surface texturization this particular project offered us a chance to explore the space with more fluidity. The house was offered to us as an empty shell of concrete slabs and column grid structure in the form of a builder penthouse at NOIDA.

We conceived the flow of space as a strong force field that melted, twisted, swirled and transformed every space making element that came along the way.

Designed as a four bedroom penthouse on two levels with a rooftop pool, the house became a challenging exercise to transform the fluid forms in reality where, not only they get replicated as it is but also, work with all the complexities attached to a private residence of privacy, maintenance and costs.

With the help of our chief contractor various ingenious low costs techniques were employed, walls were created out of plywood reinforced by steel bars where various service conduits ran through like blood vessels in a living organism. Floating within the open space like a sheet of paper, was a 25 meter long ribbon of light that blurred the division between  the two spaces at different levels
