Charged with translating IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils’ on-field dynamism into a 2,300 ft² workplace, MOFA Studio created an office that blurs the line between sport, play and productivity. Completed in just four months ahead of the 2014 season, the fourth-floor space adopts a semi-formal open plan where workstations, meeting areas and social zones flow into one another, mirroring the fluid movement of a cricket match.

At its heart is a sculptural “pool” of energy: a wave-like installation built from recycled shipping pallets and UV-printed MDF panels that depict six years of team history. Inspired by time-lapse footage of batsmen striking balls around a stadium, the piece spirals across the ceiling and walls, becoming both artwork and way-finding device while celebrating the team’s core values of courage, brilliance, honesty and pride.

A ‘think-tank lounge’ anchors the collaborative culture, its dramatic cloud swirl encouraging brainstorming and sponsor interactions. Formal conferencing is balanced by re-configurable discussion nooks near reception, all furnished in Steelcase systems that keep individual identity without sacrificing openness. Custom red acrylic dividers, wicket-like reception fins, jersey vitrines and LED-lit player walls reinforce the cricket narrative.

Materials remain deliberately tactile and sustainable: recycled wood, cement board panels, Verona carpet tiles and a neutral palette of timber and amber offset by the franchise’s signature reds. Bespoke linear lighting—developed with Luzlight Design Studio—echoes camera flashes and stump LEDs, amplifying match-day excitement after dark.

By merging storytelling, sustainable detailing and rigorous project management, MOFA Studio delivered a youth-centric office that the squad now calls “home”, energising players and staff alike while projecting the bold spirit of Delhi Daredevils to sponsors and visitors.
