Toni & GUY

Designing for the fashion-forward service industry often means finding the right balance between aesthetic appeal, functional flow, and brand identity. When M:OFA Studios was commissioned to design a flagship salon for the iconic TONI&GUY in Gurgaon, the concept naturally evolved from the brand’s core visual language and the symbolic relationship between hair and comb.

Founded in 1963 in London, TONI&GUY is a globally recognized name in hairstyling, with over 100 salons across 20 countries. Their interiors consistently follow a signature monochromatic palette—black, white, and shades of grey. Staying true to this identity, we crafted a space that’s both dramatic and refined.

The design draws inspiration from the movement of hair, articulated through suspended partitions of laser-cut MDF panels, flowing across the ceiling like cascading tresses. These are visually anchored by delicate wooden louvres, subtly reminiscent of combs—creating a spatial metaphor for the dynamic interaction between stylist and client.

The salon follows an open plan layout. Hairstyling stations are arranged in pairs and scattered organically through the main floor. Each pair is divided by a back-to-back mirror suspended from the ceiling, edge-lit with concealed LEDs to ensure flawless lighting for precision styling.

Beyond the main styling zone, the space includes pedispa pods, spa therapy rooms, shampoo stations, and a secluded hair colour section. A network of linear and spot lights, woven into the tress-like ceiling, brings the entire salon to life in the evenings—providing both drama and utility.

This project reflects not just TONI&GUY’s aesthetic legacy, but also M:OFA’s approach to crafting immersive, brand-driven environments that perform as beautifully as they look.
